Calculation Method

Semester GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours

Example Calculation:

Course 1: Grade A+ (9.0) × 4 credits = 36 points

Course 2: Grade O (10.0) × 3 credits = 30 points

Course 3: Grade A (8.0) × 2 credits = 16 points

GPA = (36 + 30 + 16) ÷ (4 + 3 + 2) = 82 ÷ 9 = 9.11

SRM Academic Policies

  • • Students with GPA < 5.0 placed on academic probation
  • • Supplementary exams available for failed courses (U grade)
  • • Grade improvement allowed within specified time frame
  • • Course withdrawal deadline: Mid-semester

  • • All registered courses are included in GPA calculation
  • • Failed courses (U grade) significantly lower GPA
  • • Audit courses do not contribute to GPA
