Understanding CGPA

Pakistani System (4.0 Scale)

  • • Good: 3.0 - 3.49
  • • Satisfactory: 2.5 - 2.99
  • • Pass: 2.0 - 2.49
  • • Fail: Below 2.0

Indian System (10.0 Scale)

CGPA Calculation Formula

CGPA = (Sum of all GPA × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours across all semesters

Example: Semester 1: GPA 3.5 (15 credits), Semester 2: GPA 3.2 (18 credits)
CGPA = [(3.5 × 15) + (3.2 × 18)] ÷ (15 + 18) = 110.1 ÷ 33 = 3.34
